Mark Ellul

Mark was appointed as Executive General Manager Finance and Governance in September 2026.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, strategy and corporate leadership across the energy, telecommunications and professional services sectors.

Prior to joining AEMO, Mark served as the Chief Financial Officer at AusNet where he led finance, strategy and legal through major strategic, investment, capital management and business transformation initiatives. Throughout his career he has also held senior roles with Telstra and KPMG.

In his current role, Mark leads the Finance and Governance function covering financial planning and performance, procurement, investment planning and governance, legal, enterprise risk and compliance, company secretary and internal audit.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Chartered Accountant. He is also a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
